Tomorrow (March 20th) is the first day of spring and I couldn't be happier. If you are anything like me, then you know all about those winter blues and genuinely feel completely energised and transformed once we adjust our clocks for daylight savings.
To mark the beginning of spring, I want to share five simple ways to bring spring into our homes and share a snap of my own new (and still quite a work-in-progress) dining room that is my little corner of spring style.
Number 1: Nothing says spring like flowers
...and better yet, with pink hues. If you look closer, you will notice that I have (may I say cleverly) re-purposed my Le Creuset coffee press as a vase. I do not actually own many pastel pink items and seeing these lovely flowers in this pitcher has been lifting my spirits all weekend long.
Number 2: Update your table linens
Accenting with a bright table cloth, table runner or place mats is a quick way to add color without commitment to your dining room.
Number 3: De-clutter
I am not advising a Marie Kondo overhaul but a little spring cleaning will surely help you welcome spring into your home.
Number 4: Offer yourself fresh bed linen or a throw
Whether it is washing and putting away your warmer flannel sheets or just updating a throw and a few of the pillows, these small details can instantly transform your mood and style of your bedroom.
Number 5: Update family photos
This is something I try to do every year and for some reason spring seems to be the most appropriate moment to frame a few new portraits or update my photo boards.
